Ramen in Chiyoda
Chiyoda is Tokyo's centre: Tokyo Ramen Street under Tokyo Station, office-district lunch counters, and the student and bookshop streets of Kanda and Jimbocho.

Chiyoda ward holds the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station and the Marunouchi business district, so much of its ramen is built for people in a hurry. The best-known stop is Tokyo Ramen Street, opened in 2009 in the underground shopping area on the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station: a row of shops from well-known ramen makers, with the line-up changing over time, ideal for a bowl before a train. Queues are long at lunch and on weekends; going early or late helps.
North of the station, Kanda and Jimbocho, Tokyo's book-shop district, near several universities, have plenty of cheap, filling ramen for students and office workers, alongside the area's famous old soba houses and curry shops. Akihabara, also in Chiyoda, adds late-opening counters near the electronics stores. The guide covers the whole ward, from Iidabashi to Ochanomizu.
